  • Manage social, digital and print media content for the fourth largest law enforcement agency nationally
  • Serve as a spokesperson/public relations manager during crisis events, breaking news and to spotlight the everyday activities and achievements of the agency
  • Produce unique daily video packages and written press releases to distribute to media and public
  • Organize special events, such as news conferences, charity fundraisers and award ceremonies, for the agency

      • Wrote, shot and edited compelling news content on deadline as a “one-man-band” reporter for nightly newscast 
      • Managed professional social media accounts, for both personal brand and corporate, to share news and generate interest prior to newscasts
      • Promoted for exceptional performance each year of employment, rising from a weekend reporter to the Special Projects Division enterprise reporter and primary fill-in news anchor for 5, 6, 10 and 11p.m. news broadcasts

      • Hosted Emmy-nominated weekend morning news and lifestyle program
      • Managed a five county “beat,” developing sources in each community to find impactful stories daily
      • Ensured there was not a lapse in company’s online presence on weekends and overnights by frequently updating company website, scheduling hourly posts on social media accounts, and responding to viewer inquires via email and social media messaging
      • Reporting skills led to recognition as 2014 winner of the Michele Clark Excellence in Journalism Award through the Radio Television and Digital News Association (RTDNA)

      December 2010 – January 2013 
      WECT  6 News -- Wilmington, NC
      • Pioneered first weekend morning news program in the Wilmington, NC market, serving as producer and news anchor for two-hour Saturday and Sunday morning newscast
      • Served as senior producer for 4-hour daily morning newscast, providing guidance and leadership to production team consisting of director, audio operator, assistant producer, master controller, news anchors and reporters throughout live broadcasts
      • Communicated with law enforcement, news affiliates and viewers around the clock via email, telephone and social media to research and verify overnight news content, maintaining the station’s brand and mission of offering reliable, trust-worthy information

      • Wrote news copy in ENPS for Raleigh, Charlotte and Wilmington nightside anchors
      • Assisted photographers with shooting and editing video and performing interviews for both news and sports
