Crystal Clark is an award-winning news reporter and an Emmy-nominated anchor with nearly a decade of experience working in television news.
Throughout her journalism career, Crystal has covered everything from hurricanes battering the coast of Florida to snow storms burying cities in the Midwest. She is most in her element when covering breaking news, both in the field and behind the anchor desk.
After graduating with honors from North Carolina State University, Crystal's broadcasting career began at WECT in Wilmington, North Carolina. She came on board as a weekday morning news producer, but within two years, she was pioneering the first weekend morning news program in the market, serving as the primary anchor, producer and video editor for the show...a true one man band! The morning Hurricane Sandy blew past the North Carolina coast in 2012, Crystal solo produced and anchored a Saturday morning show of continuous coverage, providing leadership to her small production team behind the scenes and a calming presence to viewers.
Shortly after, Crystal was promoted to a full-time on-air journalist position in Toledo, Ohio, at WTOL 11 News. She worked as a weekend anchor and weekday multimedia journalist, writing, filming and editing her own stories on a daily basis. Her weekend show was nominated for a regional Emmy, and her quality reporting was recognized in 2014, when Crystal was awarded the Michele Clark Excellence in Journalism Award through the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).
Crystal went on to accept a reporter and fill-in anchor position in Tampa, Florida at the Fox owned and operated station. She covered stories that made national headlines, including the Pulse Nightclub shooting, the search and arrest of the Seminole Heights serial killer and multiple hurricanes and tropical storms. Crystal's eye for news and ability to connect with the community eventually led to a promotion to Enterprise Reporter within the station's Special Assignments division, and a spot as the primary fill-in anchor for the evening newscasts.
Crystal is no stranger to dedicating long days and nights to a story. She brings her positive spirit and enthusiasm into the newsroom everyday, inspiring others.
